HP TouchPad Returns from the Fire Sale Ashes - "More TouchPads on the Way"

According to Mark Buggell from a post on  the HP "THENEXTBENCH" blog, "Despite announcing an end to manufacturing webOS hardware, we have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand. We don’t know exactly when these units will be available or how many we’ll get, and we can’t promise we’ll have enough for everyone. We do know that it will be at least a few weeks before you can purchase.  See more information in the updated FAQs below."

"A limited supply will be coming and it will be a few weeks before they are available," states the blog.

It has been speculated that HP is clearing out its supply of remaining component inventory from its suppliers who have already purchased components for the TouchPad.  Halting production of the product at this point would create a huge disruption in the supply-chain and effect its vendors who have purchased inventory items specific to the HP product assembly requirements. It might be better to phase out the TouchPad by building another batch, using these components rather than writing off the all the components as a total loss.
